THE BENEFITS OF COUNSELING

healing, hope
and health

There are many life changes, expected and unexpected, that we experience in our lifetime. During these challenges or transitions, it is normal if you find yourself feeling in need of a listening ear to help you feel affirmed, understood, and supported.

You deserve a safe space to heal and grow.

The Counseling process is designed to meet you wherever you are in your life journey. Counseling can be used as an intervention- to provide support during personal challenges and/or emotional crisis. It can also be used preventatively-to prevent the buildup of stress in the mind and body in addition to its usage as an appropriate intervention when the emotions have already built up. Counseling can help you learn more about yourself by facilitating a safe space for self-exploration, reflection, and processing. It is also designed to help you work on specific counseling goals. The privacy, confidentiality, and ethical expectations of Counseling is an added reassurance for anyone who is afraid of the process of opening to someone new. The process may take one or several sessions depending on what you feel you need.

Whether you’re dealing with stress, relationship challenges or cycles of anxiety or negative-thinking, I am here to help. Together, we can identify what is not working and how to bring you back to balance. In our sessions, I’ll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can work through whatever might be holding you back-consciously or unconsciously.

Let’s begin!

Some lovely insights

“Virginia’s thought leadership in my life has become a catalyst for critical thinking and deep psychological work. Through her guidance, I’ve been able to identify pain points that have led me to soul rewarding discoveries and newfound joy.”

∼ Ghislaine Leon,
Founder Fearless Leon

“When Virginia served as my Counselor, she was insightful, caring, and attentive. When it was time for our sessions, she always created a welcoming environment, and I felt comfortable speaking with her. It was natural to speak with her and to be open and transparent with her. I will always be grateful to Virginia for being able to help me grow and learn from my experiences, which was the best part of having her as my Counselor.”

∼ N.D.

“My experience in counseling with Virginia has helped me grow as a person. Virginia is a wonderful Counselor and is very open-minded in finding ways to improve my habits. She has my complete trust and the only person I feel comfortable reaching out for whatever the cause may be.”

D.J.

“I wish I could describe how strongly I feel towards the work and progress I’ve done with you, Virginia. I appreciate you so much and love how soothing your presence is. Although I don’t share all of me with anyone, I can comfortably say that I can show you parts of me so freely. You are such a beautiful soul and you uplift me to be a better person each week.”

N.G.

“I struggled with my mental health a lot; went through many emotionally traumatic events that left me feeling like I would never recover. However, I met with Virginia once a week every week for 4 years and those hour sessions gave me a safe space to speak my mind, cry, be creative and all together start my healing journey. Even now in college I will never forget the things I’ve learned about myself. I would not be the man I am today if I never had that first conversation, I am eternally grateful for what Virginia has provided for me.”

H.M.

“Many times I found myself sitting in Virginia’s office, and it is here I realized she was part of my family. To meet a person who is not kin and yet, feel a familial bond with them is something rare. The instinct to connect is objectively human, and who we interact with defines, in part, who we are. I wouldn’t have been able to graduate high school had it not been for her support and devotion to wellness and mental health.”

A.T.

“Virginia has helped me be more in tune with not just my mental and emotional feelings, but my spiritual as well. Our weekly meetings made me more aware and conscious of my attitude and behavior. Now years later, I see the impact of those meetings in my life, and I can’t thank Virginia enough for her support. Without her, I wouldn’t be the confident, open-minded man I am today."

D.W.

“In my experience, it has been difficult to find someone as considerate, transparent, and holistically trained as Virginia Valerio. She has not only supported me through some really huge life transitions in ways beyond what I could have asked for, but she has done so with such care and grace. I am eternally grateful for her help and recommend her to anyone who is going through personal, professional, and even spiritual challenges in their life. You are in the best hands with her."
